Julia Fox didn’t hold back with her bold fashion choice at the Room to Grow’s 25th-anniversary gala in New York City. The model and actress, who recently unveiled her memoir “Down the Drain,” is known for her avant-garde style, and her latest outfit didn’t disappoint.
For this special occasion, Fox opted for a daring ensemble, featuring a deep burgundy knee-length fur coat paired with a red corseted leather dress adorned with five diagonal leather strips. Notably, the leather portions below her waist were strategically placed to provide coverage, creating the illusion of a striped dress with a unique cylindrical structure.
The star of “Uncut Gems” completed her look with matching burgundy pointed-toe pumps, showcasing her sartorial prowess. Departing from her typical dark-winged eyeliner, Fox went for a soft, glamorous makeup look, featuring a glossy taupe lip and various light eyeshadows. Her hair was elegantly styled with a middle part, accentuated by flowing, curled ringlets gracefully cascading over her shoulders.
The gala marked the 25th anniversary of Room to Grow, an organization dedicated to supporting families in low-income circumstances raising young children in New York and Boston. The event celebrated donors and ambassadors who have been instrumental in the organization’s mission.
Julia Fox was among the anniversary ambassadors attending the gala, alongside fellow luminaries like Molly Bernard, Elaine Welteroth, Matthew Morrison, Aja Naomi King, and Kelly Osbourne, among others. Notable host committee members included Amy Schumer, Maya Hawke, and Patina Miller while founding board member Uma Thurman was also in attendance. The gala featured live entertainment, a live auction, and personal stories shared by Room to Grow graduates.
Fox’s fashion statement at the gala followed the release of her memoir on October 10. In her book, she candidly explores her childhood in the city, covering experiences like shoplifting, battling a heroin habit during her teenage years, and the loss of her best friend to an overdose. Additionally, she delves into her journey into motherhood with her two-year-old son, Valentino.
While the book offers insights into her life, it doesn’t explicitly address her relationship with rapper Kanye West, referring to him as “the artist.” Fox noted in an interview with The New York Times that her portrayal of West in the book is limited to about six pages and that she aimed to avoid creating any controversy or ill feelings, emphasizing that she intended to focus on the past and move forward.
