Gino D’Acampo reportedly experienced a harrowing accident, resulting in significant injuries, as he was filming a new ITV show alongside Fred Sirieix. The 47-year-old chef and the 51-year-old French maître d’hôtel have been in Vienna, working on a travel show titled “Emission Impossible,” where they explore some of Europe’s most breathtaking locations.

Production for the show has come to a sudden halt, and Gino expressed that it has been “the worst shoot of my life.” He also criticized ITV for failing to check on him following the accident, as reported by The Sun.

The incident occurred on October 18 when Gino attempted to ride a 200ft toboggan slide while holding a cocktail glass. The accident was severe, resulting in bloodshed, and a witness described the scene as chaotic, with one of the children involved bleeding profusely from his mouth. An ambulance was swiftly called for the injured children, and Gino received immediate onsite medical treatment. ITV has offered counseling and support to all parties affected.

Before the accident, both presenters had raised safety concerns, and the mishap only added to Gino’s frustration, particularly after becoming unwell the next day due to long and grueling 14-hour workdays in freezing conditions.

MailOnline has reached out to Gino and ITV’s representatives for comments.

In their upcoming ITV travel series, Gino and Fred aim to embrace a more sustainable way of life while visiting some of Europe’s most stunning locations. The show, titled “Emission Impossible,” will follow them as they eat, sleep, and travel sustainably, all while exploring breathtaking destinations.

This new venture comes after Gino announced his departure from his Road Trip show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred. The final series of the trio’s Road Trip is set to air next month. Inspired by a growing awareness of ecological concerns, Fred aims to lead by example and encourage environmentally friendly living.

Their travels will take them to Austria, once named the world’s greenest city, where they will confront melting glaciers. They will also explore Croatian islands threatened by rising sea levels. Throughout their journey, they will search for sustainable produce and immerse themselves in eco-friendly lifestyles, with the goal of inspiring viewers to contemplate changes in their own lives.

Gino and Fred expressed their enthusiasm for the project, hoping to both entertain and raise awareness about important ecological issues. While they may not have the ultimate recipe to save the planet, they aspire to inform and inspire their audience to make positive changes in their lives.
