Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s potential run for the U.S. presidency has stirred speculation, as he revealed on the What Now?
Podcast that various political parties reached out to him at the close of 2022.
The actor acknowledged the significant impact of a New York Times survey conducted in 2021, which indicated that 46% of Americans would vote for him if he entered the presidential race.
During the interview with Trevor Noah, Dwayne shared his reaction to the poll, stating, “The poll was very interesting. I was really moved by that. And I was really, uh, blown away. I was really honoured.”
Dwayne disclosed that he received outreach from several political parties based on the poll results, describing it as a surprising and significant development.
When asked about the possibility of running for the President’s seat, he responded, “My goal has never been to be in politics. Matter of fact, there are a lot of things about politics that I hate.” However, he added, “I would reconsider the decision regarding running for the president’s office if people are really passionate about my candidacy.”
