Due to the Hollywood actors’ strike, the release schedule will be significantly altered.
Due to the actors’ strike, Disney delayed the release of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3; as a result, Paramount has altered its schedule for 2019 and beyond.
Dead Reckoning: Part Two of Mission: Impossible has been postponed from June 28, 2024, to 2019. As of right now, the release date is May 23, 2025.
The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike forced the production of the eighth Mission: Impossible movie to halt, as it did for many other movies. As a result, the film won’t be finished in time for its summer 2013 release. With the actors’ strike now in its third month, Hollywood studios will have to juggle a new wave of release dates. If the actors union and studios don’t reach an agreement on a contract in the upcoming weeks, many high-profile films with big budgets will suffer a similar fate.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One ended up earning $567.5 million (€531 million) globally, falling short of the (better) 2018 sequel Fallout ($791.7 million / €741 million globally) and the exhilarating highs of Cruise’s summer 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick ($1.5 billion / €1.4 billion).
Prequel to the post-apocalyptic horror series starring Lupita Nyong’o, A Quiet Place: Day One, will now be released on June 28, instead of March, according to a Paramount announcement. Dead Reckoning: Part Two was originally supposed to debut on that date.
Release plans have been continually upset by the Hollywood labor unrest. A number of films have changed, including Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, Kung Fu Panda 4, Dune: Part 2, and the third Venom movie.
Today (October 24) is the day that negotiations between the studios and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists are set to resume.
